| We visit on average about once a month and it's always a treat. The beef is particularly good, but I also enjoy the fish dishes and the crab fishcakes. Service is great. So glad John has won this award - he deserves it.
What a pity he is no longer allowed to serve crackling under health and safety regs - it was delicious.

| Lathwells without a doubt made our week end in north Devon.
A restaurant that understands the needs of its customers! How very refreshing.
The best fish soup we have ever tasted. Slow cooked beef out of this world. Vegetables with imagination but above all the chocolate selection for pudding was to die for.

| We live locally and had heard of Lathwells from a friend so visited with some old work colleagues on Weds 21st March. Very impressed with menu, specials (lobster was great!) and enviroment, particularly with the emphasis on local produce. Thought the decor and facilities were of a very high standard and would definatley visit again. One comment, lets have a nice oaked chardonnay on the wine list!
Thanks for a great evening,

| A long weekend in Devon was topped off with a meal here. John Emms'asked if we had any favourites when we booked and my boyfriend was treated to the 'special' - lamb shanks that he said were the best he'd ever eaten. The whole meal was delicious. I wish we didn't live 200 miles away or I'd want to come back every week. |

| We came to Lathwells for our first wedding aniversary. The atmosphere was so romantic and food as good as in my home country of France! The English can cook fresh fish without killing it twice I have now discovered.
Thank you for making our evening so special. We will be back with our friends. |
